Seung Sub “Elvis” Kim’s practice focuses on patent litigation and counseling for national and international clients across a range of industries, including pharmaceutical, medical device, biotechnology, telecommunications, and wireless communications. Elvis has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in patent disputes before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, United States District Courts, as well as before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. His comprehensive experience in intellectual property litigation spans all stages, including pre-trial investigation, claim construction and Markman hearings, expert reports, fact and expert depositions, pre-trial briefing, and discovery management. 

Elvis also provides guidance on intellectual property consulting agreements, due diligence investigations, and freedom-to-operate issues. His expertise also extends to patent prosecution, with a particular focus on pharmaceuticals, cannabinoids and related formulations. 

Prior to joining Carlson Caspers, Elvis served as a paralegal at the New York County District Attorney’s Office and completed a clerkship at Cargill in Minnetonka, Minnesota. 

Outside the office, Elvis is a dedicated athlete who enjoys pickleball and tennis, and has a growing interest in collecting vinyl records.
